Do parents have different hopes and standards for their sons than for their daughters?

I do think that parents have different standards for there sons and daughters. Most parents want there sons to be big strong and tall or to be just like them. And for there daughters they want them to be delicate like a flour, nice, well behaved some parents don’t want there daughters to play sports. ┬áParents also punish the boy harder than the girl for example if the son didn’t do his homework his parents would get mad and probably ground him but for the daughter they would help her and maybe ground her for less time.
