Do the things we wear reflect the way we see ourselves or the way we want others to see us? – Lily Czuk

We should wear things that we feel comfortable and confident in, but our society makes us think we cant. They make us think that we have to wear whatever is in style to belong in a certain group. Apparently, if you wear whatever is in style you’re considered “popular”, if you wear a t-shirt and sweatpants, you’re considered “unpopular”. The little things that our society worries about is nothing compared to what really matters. People shouldn’t judge based on what you wear.

If something is to expensive (name brand clothes), such as Nike, Adidas, or Under Armour, we shouldn’t feel ashamed of wearing something else. Sometimes, these things are just expensive. For example, if somebody is wearing a non name brand clothing item, they may feel shameful because of how many people judge them. Another reason why the things we wear reflect the way we want others to see us is because of whats in style and whats not. If you wear something really trendy, more people will want to sit with you at lunch. This isn’t a bad thing as long as you feel comfortable and confident, but if you don’t feel comfortable at all, this is not something to be proud of.

In conclusion, I don’t think you should feel ashamed for what you wear. If you like wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants then do so. If you like how you feel in your skin, then show it. People need to stop worrying about what other people think and we need to stop judging others.
