Knowing Source of Food

It is important to know where your food comes from to make sure the company pays employees properly, follows health standards, and properly label sell-by dates. WIthout knowing the source of a food company you may not know if the company is treating its employees well. They may underpay or have unsafe working conditions that could harm the workers. Companies supplying food may also have unsanitary workspaces. If you did not know this, you could be eating potentially harmful foods.   Food companies may also stretch the sell-by dates if consumers did not know where the food came from. It could allow the company to make more money by paying slower transit fees, while potentially harming an unknowing customer.

  • I did not think about underpaying workers, Gabrielle. E. Coli is a big fear/problem. We are always hearing about recalled lettuce..
