By A Limb

The wind whips past me,

Hanging by a limb.

The shaky winds should make it hard to see,

But I’m a leaf, small and slim.

I take in a deep breathe and let go.

The autumn winds whisper around me,

Pulling me right and left, up and down.

The winds start to yell, it’s never been so loud

I’m whipped around harder, faster,

Until it all stops, and I’m left alone, on the ground.

No longer a leaf hanging by a limb
