Once upon a time there was a woodpecker named woody. He was a little different than other woodpeckers. Everyday he would go and peck trees and find larvae and ants to eat from the burrows of the trees. Do you know how a woodpecker looks? It has a black back, a white wing patch, a white throat and cheek, a black chin, a white forehead, and a red cap reduced on a female. Until one day a dad and his son came to destroy the house of the woodpecker family. Woody got mad and started doing things like: farting, making loud noises, and pecking holes in their house. Did you know what cool things a woodpecker can do or and have ? Woodpeckers can lick up sap and insects, and will also use their agile tongues to sip from nectar feeders for hummingbirds and orioles. Most woodpeckers have zygodactyl feet, which means they have two toes facing the front and two toes facing the back to help them strongly grip trees and poles in a vertical position. The dad and the boy understood that what they were doing was wrong. And they started being nice to the woodpecker family.
