The idea of two educators, Write About was built by a small team and has not raised any venture capital. To bring the dream into the world, this has been a “late nights and weekends” project over many months for co-founders John Spencer, Brad Wilson and Bob Armbrister. Read their full story here.
While the team is extremely proud of the work done thus far, the vision for what Write About can become is even greater. Conversations with the educators and students who have supported us continue to inspire improvements every day. In order for this to be sustainable, a simple business model has been adopted.
The writing community that forms the foundation for the platform will always remain free for teachers to join and participate in through Ideas. If you choose to make Write About the ongoing publishing platform for your students, it is easy and affordable to upgrade to Classroom or Classroom Plus. If multiple classrooms are ready to adopt Write About, explore our School/District options.
How we make decisions

Will this help teachers?
Will this be sustainable?
What we will never do
Never display ads

We are grateful for feedback and invite you to connect with us if you would like to discuss how Write About can help your school.
